Reality TV Edwardian Style

Reality TV Edwardian Style

Apparently in 1995 someone found in their basement a hoard of long lost film negatives from the film production company Mitchell & Kenyon. The company was founded in 1897and specialized in reality tv type films. The company's founders traveled around the country shooting footage during the day of street scenes, parades, marches, even factory workers leaving for the day. Footage shot during the day would be shown the same evening in fairground tents or local meeting halls.

The Mitchell & Kenyon Collection is the largest collection of early non-fiction films in the world. They even have their own You Tube channel where you can watch clips of the fascinating films. The below shows Women in their long white skirts elegantly showcasing their bicycle handling skills.
